Children's Bible School

CBS (Children's Bible School) is a ministry that aims to teach the Word of God to children and help them grow in their faith and character. It is based on the Sunday School system that originated in England in the 18th Century and has been adapted to suit the local context and culture.

CBS has more than 40 students and 10 teachers who belong to different age groups and classes. The students range from LKG (Lower Kindergarten) to 12th grade. The teachers are qualified and experienced in teaching the Bible and handling children. They also undergo regular training and evaluation to improve their skills and knowledge.

CBS gathers every week on Friday Mornnig for a time of worship, teaching, fellowship and prayer. The worship section is led by the children themselves who sing songs, recite verses and share testimonies. The Bible message is delivered by one of the teachers who explains a passage or a topic from the Scripture in a simple and relevant way. The classes are conducted in separate groups where the students learn more about the Bible, Christian doctrines and values through interactive methods such as stories, games, quizzes and crafts. The group activities are designed to foster teamwork, creativity and leadership among the students. The prayer session is led by the students who pray for their personal needs, their families, their friends, their church and their nation.

CBS also conducts talent tests every year prior to the anniversary. The talent tests include memory verse, solo singing, elocution, essay writing and other categories that showcase the talents and abilities of the students. All the students participate in the talent tests and compete with each other in a healthy and friendly manner. The prizes for the talent tests are given on the anniversary day along with certificates and gifts.

The anniversary is usually held in the middle of the year and is a grand occasion where the students display their talents and achievements to their parents, church members and guests. The anniversary program consists of songs, skits, choreographies, speeches and other items that reflect the theme and vision of CBS. The anniversary also serves as a platform to invite new students to join CBS and to appreciate the teachers and volunteers who serve in CBS.

CBS also used to conduct a Camp Event during the start of the year prior to COVID-19 pandemic. In this event, all the parents of the students of CBS and others would go in a bus from a common place to a Tent Camp in the desert. They would spend time there playing games, cooking food, singing songs, and enjoying fellowship with each other. The Camp Event was a great opportunity to bond with each other, learn new things and have fun.

Students of CBS are also subjected to two exams per academic year: Half Year Examination in December and Final Examination in May. These exams test their knowledge and understanding of the Bible lessons they have learned throughout the year. The exams also help them to revise and retain what they have learned.

CBS is headed by a Headmaster who oversees the overall functioning and administration of the ministry. He is assisted by a committee of teachers who plan and execute the curriculum, activities and events of CBS.

The current Headmaster of CBS is Br. Sam Rajesh who has been serving in this role since 2023. He is supported by Sis. Emima Girty Thomas as Secretary who handles the correspondence and documentation of CBS. Br. Manoah Wilson serves as treasurer and manages CBS' finances and accounts.
